Wes Hamilton - Saturday, March 15 vs. Portland Thorns
At Disabled But Not Really, Wes Hamilton has made it his mission to empower people with physical disabilities in Kansas City by providing access to fitness, mentorship, and resources that help them regain independence. Having faced barriers himself, he is dedicated to breaking them—whether through the Help Me Fit Challenge, community advocacy, or simply showing people what’s possible. His work is all about creating a space where individuals feel strong, supported, and unstoppable.

Delores French - Saturday, March 29 vs. Utah Royals
the lead of a local Days for Girls chapter, a worldwide organization makes sustainable menstrual kits available to girls and women around the world.

Molly Gardner - Saturday, April 19 vs. Houston Dash
Molly Gardner is a shining example of dedication and passion in her volunteer work with Variety KC. Her selfless contributions play a vital role in advancing Variety KC’s mission and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to live a full and happy life. Their dedication continues to make a profound impact with Variety KC and the Kansas City community.

Sally and Shawn Petersen - Saturday, May 11 vs. Bay FC
Sally and Shawn Petersen are deeply committed to Special Olympics Missouri in the Kansas City Metro Area. Sally and Shawn demonstrate the significance of volunteering as a family and the impact that it brings.

Jay Bohanon - Saturday, June 14 vs. Racing Louisville
Jay Bohanon works with the mid[1]america LGBT Chamber. Jay has been a powerful voice for transgender inclusion across Kansas City. From helping organize the city’s first recognition of transgender day of Visibility to co-chairing the ‘transformations in the workplace’ initiative for four consecutive years, Jay continues to shape safer, more inclusive spaces for transgender individuals in our workplaces and communities.

Ricky Hernandez​ - Friday, June 20 vs. Angel City FC
Ricky Hernandez has been a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities. His vision for inclusive sports came to life right here in Kansas City through Miracle League Baseball, an adaptive baseball program that started in his own backyard. As a lifelong Variety KC volunteer, Ricky’s commitment to creating opportunities and accessibility for all is truly inspiring.

Monica Kurylo​ - Saturday, August 16 vs. Orlando Pride
Monica has been a neurorehabilitation psychologist for the past 20 years. Over the course of her career, she has worked with those who have sustained a stroke or brain injury, spinal cord injury, as well as people with congenital issues such as cerebral palsy. Each year Monica and her husband participate in the Johnson County NAMI, a community event dedicated to raising awareness for mental health.

Mark Buser - Saturday, August 30 vs. NC Courage
Mark is the assistant executive director and co-founder at the Odin George Foundation. Mark and his team have made a remarkable impact on children with complex medical needs and their families right here in Kansas City, by providing specialized equipment like adaptive swings, tricycles, and even adapting nearly 80 toys for use at local clinics and schools.

Bella Amos​ - Saturday, September 13 vs. Washington Spirit
Bella has shown remarkable leadership by using her platform as a student-athlete to advocate for mental health awareness. She organized a mental health awareness game to shed light on the importance of support and resources for young athletes.

Hope Krebill​​ - Friday, September 26 vs. Chicago Stars
Hope leads the Masonic Cancer Alliance. She works to reduce the cancer burden in our region by expanding access to clinical trials and cancer screenings across Kansas and western Missouri. She also helped create PIVOT, a program designed to ensure research is centered on the needs and perspectives of patients.

Brie Bauer​​ - Saturday, October 11 vs. Gotham FC
Brie was diagnosed with two rare and life-threatening conditions. despite the challenges, Brie chose to share her story with the world through her non-profit, Brie's Hope, which is dedicated to saving lives through sepsis awareness, early detection, and providing compassionate support for individuals adapting to life after limb loss.

Enrique Chi​​ - Saturday, November 2 vs. San Diego Wave
Enrique is the leader of Latin band Making Movies. In 2013, as aspiring artists, the band started a music camp to help empower youth in the Historic Northeast neighborhood. That camp eventually grew into the nonprofit organization called Art as Mentorship serving hundreds of youth each year with its FREE programming. Enrique connects music's power build stronger and healthier communities while uplifting local artists of all backgrounds.
