TEN THINGS TO KNOW
1. The Kansas City Current officially secured a spot in the 2026 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel, last night following results from around the NWSL. The Current has now made three consecutive postseason appearances and is one of four NWSL clubs with an active postseason streak of at least three seasons. More information can be found HERE.
2. The only team who remains undefeated at home this year, the Current is on an active home unbeaten run of 31 consecutive regular season matches at CPKC Stadium (24-0-7), extending their NWSL record. That’s nine more wins than any other home unbeaten streak in league history (Seattle, 22, 2014-15).
3. Kansas City, who scored nine times in its last two games at home, has 103 goals in the 40 regular season matches played at CPKC Stadium. That’s 30 more than any other team at home since the stadium opened at the start of the 2024 season (Washington, 73).
4. Kansas City ranks second in the NWSL with 50 goals, just one behind ninth-place North Carolina (51). Thirty-seven of the Current’s goals have been scored at CPKC Stadium, tied with 2024 for the most goals scored at home in a single regular season in club history.
5. Forward Haley Hopkins is the fourth player in NWSL history – and the first since Ebony Salmon in 2022 – to score six times in a span of three matches within a single regular season. The most goals scored in a span of four matches in a single season in league history is seven, done by six players.
6. The Current has had eight multi-goal performances this year, tied with Seattle (2014, 2021) for the most in a single regular season in NWSL history. Those multi-goal performances have come in the form of three hat tricks and five braces from four different players.
7. Kansas City joins North Carolina as the only two clubs with multiple players in the top 10 of the NWSL Golden Boot race. Forward Temwa Chawinga, the two-time defending MVP and Golden Boot winner, sits in fifth with 12 goals and four assists while Hopkins ranks seventh with 11 goals and four assists.
8. In a 2-0 win at Utah on Oct. 17, midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo dished out her second assist in the last three regular season matches. She now has 33 career regular season assists, the second-most in NWSL history.
9. Last weekend, midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta moved into the NWSL’s all-time top 15 for regular season minutes played. She has 15,743 career regular season minutes, including a single-season career-high 2,218 this year.
10. Midfielder Croix Bethune’s next assist will be her 11th of the regular season campaign, breaking a tie with herself (2024, Washington) Cloé Lacasse (2026, Utah) and Tobin Heath (2016, Portland) for the league’s single-season record.
