Kansas City Current Names Camille Levin General Manager

KANSAS CITY (Jan. 6, 2022) -- The Kansas City Current announced today that Camille Levin has been named General Manager of the club, effective Jan. 15. Levin will be responsible for the overall management of the soccer operations and will report directly to ownership.

“We are thrilled to add a person of Cami’s caliber to the Current executive team,” said Co-Owner Angie Long. “Cami is a natural-born leader with tremendous soccer knowledge and an expansive soccer network. As we continue to strive to set the standard for our sport and our league, we have no doubt that Cami will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals.”

Levin’s experience in soccer spans two decades and began with her time playing top-level collegiate and professional soccer in the United States and internationally. After retiring from play, she built a successful career as a sports executive with deep experience in athlete representation and talent contract negotiations.

She played collegiate soccer at Stanford University alongside Current midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta, where they led the school to its first NCAA Championship in 2011. She went on to play professionally with Göteborg (Sweden, 2012-2013) and Western Sydney Wanderers (Australia, 2013-2014).

Following the launch of the NWSL, Levin returned to the United States in 2014 to play for Sky Blue FC (now Gotham FC) before being selected by the Orlando Pride in the 2015 NWSL Expansion Draft. She finished her playing career with the Houston Dash in 2017 and Norwegian side Vålerenga in 2018.

Levin comes to the Kansas City Current after serving as Vice President of Blueprint Sports & Media Entertainment where she was responsible for all athlete-related activities with the company. Prior to that, Levin served as the Manager of Talent Development for WWE, where she handled all aspects of talent recruitment and management for the organization.

“It is an honor to join the Kansas City Current as General Manager,” said Levin. “I am thrilled to be a part of an organization with an unwavering vision of becoming a global leader, not only in women’s soccer, but in sports. The Longs and Brittany Matthews continue to build an organization with a strong commitment towards a ‘player-first’ approach, starting with significant investment in the organization and in Kansas City. As a former NWSL player, I sincerely appreciate and respect the history of this league and believe in its bright future with KC leading the way. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to joining the team.”

The 2022 KC Current campaign begins with preseason camp on Feb. 1 and the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup on March 19. The Current will play 14 home games at Children’s Mercy Park in 2022. For tickets and information, please visit KansasCityCurrent.com.
