Inaugural Teal Rising Youth Cup to Take Place in Kansas City Dec. 5-7

KANSAS CITY (Nov. 21, 2025) – On Friday, the Kansas City Current announced the Teal Rising Youth Cup, a tournament designed to showcase youth talent and reinforce the club’s commitment to the growth of women’s soccer across the region. The inaugural event, which features eight teams and three age divisions, will take place Dec. 5-7 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center, the training site of the KC Current.

Three national club members of the Teal Rising Alliance – which creates a clear player pathway from academies around the country to professional opportunities with the Kansas City Current organization – will be participating in the Teal Rising Youth Cup, including Michigan Hawks, St. Louis Scott Gallagher and Slammers FC HB Køge (Calif.).

As part of the Teal Rising Alliance, national clubs receive several benefits such as Talent ID events, club recognition during KC Current home matches, discounts on Current Club memberships, discounted tickets for KC Current home matches and an Alliance patch on the club’s uniforms. More information about the Teal Rising Alliance can be found HERE.

In addition to the trio of national Teal Rising Alliance clubs, the five other academies that comprise the eight-team Teal Rising Youth Cup are Indy Eleven, Solar Soccer Club (Texas), Crossfire Premier (Wash.), Minnesota Thunder and FC Dallas. All eight clubs will have teams in the Under-15, U-16 and U-17 divisions. There will also be six games played in a separate U-18/19 division.

A total of 12 matches for the respective U-15, U-16 and U-17 age groups will be played beginning Friday, Dec. 5, featuring both a winner’s bracket and a consolation bracket. Teams that advance in the first round will compete in the winner’s bracket, while those who fall in their opening matchup will move to the consolation bracket. Championship games for both the winner’s bracket and consolation bracket for each age group are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7. Trophies will be awarded to the champions of the U-15, U-16 and U-17 age groups.

The Teal Rising Youth Cup is free and open to the public. The schedule and brackets can be found HERE.

The first-ever Teal Rising Youth Cup coincides with the 2025 NCAA Women’s College Cup at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose built for a women’s professional team and home to the Kansas City Current. College Cup semifinal matches are at 5 p.m. CT and 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Dec. 5, with the championship match at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, Dec. 8. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
