Haley Hopkins joined the Kansas City Current in January 2025 via a trade with the North Carolina Courage, signing on through the 2026 season. She was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft to the Courage, where she made 13 appearances and had one goal and one assist during her rookie season. Building on her initial success, the 2024 season saw Hopkins play 1,496 minutes across 23 games, tallying three goals and one assist. She finished fifth in the league for aerial duels won with 51 and scored two headed goals during the regular season. Her first season in Kansas City saw her play in 20 regular season games with three starts, amassing one goal and three assists while helping the Current win the 2025 NWSL Shield and set league records for points (65), wins (21), consecutive wins (9), multi-goal games (18) and multi-goal wins (15). Hopkins was also named MVP of the inaugural Teal Rising Cup in July 2025.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Hopkins had a decorated college career at both Vanderbilt and Virginia. Overall, Hopkins appeared in 104 collegiate games and made 100 starts, scoring 56 goals and adding 26 assists. She netted 21 game-winning goals and went 5-for-6 from the penalty spot. In her three seasons at Vanderbilt from 2017-20, she was a two-time Third Team All-American, three-time All-Region First Team and three-time All-SEC selection and was the 2018 SEC Freshman of the Year. She played for the Cavaliers from 2021-22 and was part of two deep NCAA Tournament runs, earning All-ACC honors both seasons and scoring a team-high 14 goals in 2022.
Hopkins currently serves as president of the NWSL Players Association (NWSLPA).
