Elizabeth Ball has been a cornerstone of the Kansas City Current since joining the team in January 2021 as part of its first-ever roster after being acquired from the Utah Royals. A steadfast defender, Ball brings with her valuable NWSL experience from her time with the Portland Thorns (2018–19) and the Utah Royals (2020). With over 70 appearances for Kansas City, she ranks among the top in all-time matches played for the franchise. Notable moments include her first NWSL goal against the Houston Dash on October 13, 2021; a game-winning header versus the Utah Royals on May 25, 2024; and her first multi-assist game on June 23, 2024, against the Portland Thorns.
Before her professional career, Ball was a standout at Penn State University from 2014–2017. She led the Nittany Lions to their first-ever national championship in 2015 without conceding a goal in the six-game tournament. Ball started all 95 matches in her collegiate career and logged 7,881 minutes, garnering All-Big Ten First Team and All-Region Second Team honors.
