U.S. Women’s National Team Extends Invitation to Kansas City Current Forward Michelle Cooper

KANSAS CITY (Sept. 29, 2026) — Kansas City Current forward Michelle Cooper has been called up by the United States Women’s National Team for the upcoming October FIFA international window. U.S. Soccer announced its roster on Tuesday for a training camp and pair of high-profile friendlies against top-ranked Spain, the reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. 

The USWNT – the defending Olympic champion – will first face Spain on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1:30 p.m. CT at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. CT at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. The first match will broadcast on TBS with the second on TNT. Both games will be available on HBO Max as well as on Universo and Peacock in Spanish.

Entering this international break, Cooper has 14 caps, seven starts, one goal and two assists with the Stars and Stripes. The USA currently sits second in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings with Spain in first.

Cooper was last on the international scene during the most recent FIFA window in June for two matches against Brazil in Brazil, the host of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She subbed in during the second half in the first match before starting and logging a full 90 minutes in the second contest.

The forward was also with the U.S. squad back in April for the first time in nearly six months after recovering from a foot injury. Cooper made her USWNT debut during the 2025 SheBelieves Cup with her first national team goal proving to be the game-winner vs. Australia during the tournament. She then recorded her first assist in a victory over China PR a few months later.
