Thank You: A Letter from KC Current Ownership

To the Greatest Fans in Global Soccer,  

On behalf of the entire Kansas City Current organization, THANK YOU. As we conclude just our third season, we are so proud of the incredible momentum on and off the pitch. We finished this season strong and are excited for 2024. Each year, we have built upon the last. We have continued to solidify the foundation necessary to attain our ambitions and our mission to be the best women’s football club in the world. We are a club intent on winning championships and being a perennial contender. We will not stop until we get there.  

Of course, any momentum to speak of doesn’t exist without YOU. We are grateful to have the opportunity to be stewards of this incredible community asset. We are so appreciative to be your partner. From the first game this year, you set the tone, with a record 11,301 in attendance to open the home schedule. That record would only last for just over a month before being broken again, and again and again. Seeing 15,671 fans attend our final home match of the season warmed our hearts – but it meant even more to the team. You are an inspiration to our players, our technical staff, our front office, and certainly this ownership group. We feel the energy and the excitement that you bring every single time you show up for this club. There is no doubt that YOU are our 12th player crushing it every single match! 

As we look forward to next season and the opening of the world’s first stadium purpose-built for women’s professional soccer, we are so excited to welcome you to the Current’s new home. This stadium is more than a stadium to play the beautiful game – it will be a crown jewel for Kansas City and for the worldwide landscape of women’s sports. Our new home, with its best-in-class design and your incredible energy, will ultimately be the loudest, most intimidating pitch in global soccer. We know this atmosphere will be critical to this club representing our region and our fans by positioning us to finish on that championship podium. 

From the bottom of our hearts: thank you for all you’ve done to support this club in our short history. We can’t wait for what comes next. We won’t let you down. We certainly know you won’t let these players and this club down! We can’t wait to make history with you in 2024.
