TEN THINGS TO KNOW
1. Kansas City is unbeaten in four straight regular season visits to Orlando (2-0-2), including a 1-0 road win last year. Excluding 2026 newcomers, the Current is the only team to not lose a regular season match in Orlando since the start of the 2022 season.
2. Forward Michelle Cooper recorded her first career NWSL brace on July 3 against Denver with goals in the 35th and 81st minute. She has seven goal contributions so far this regular season behind four goals and three assists; she totaled nine goal contributions (6 goals, 3 assists) during the entire 2025 regular season.
3. Midfielder Croix Bethune assisted both of Cooper’s goals last week for her third career multi-assist regular season game. Her five regular season assists currently rank second in the NWSL. She has recorded 17 regular season assists since she joined the league in 2024, the most of any active player.
4. Bethune’s multi-assist performance last weekend came in what was her 50th career regular season appearance. Her 17 career regular season assists are tied for the most of any player in league history through their first 50 appearances, along with Kim Little, Tobin Heath and Lauren Holiday.
5. Forward Temwa Chawinga scored her eighth regular season goal on July 3, which was her first road goal this year. She has scored 16 road goals – the most in the league – since joining the NWSL in 2024.
6. Goalkeeper Marisa Jordan was between the posts in Denver for her first regular season appearance as a member of the KC Current. It was the sixth regular season appearance of her career, and she recorded three saves to secure the clean sheet.
7. Last week in Denver, midfielder Debinha saw her first action in 70 days after recovering from an injury. She was a second-half substitute and helped the Current secure a victory. She became just the third player in NWSL history to record 100 career regular season wins.
8. The Current’s 3-0 win over the Summit was the fourth time in the last six regular season matches they scored three goals. Kansas City has netted three or more goals an NWSL-leading 20 times since the start of the 2024 campaign.
9. Midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo, who gave birth to her daughter in January, has come off maternity leave and makes her return to the active roster. The next KC Current win she plays in will be her 100th career regular season victory, becoming the fourth player in NWSL history to reach that milestone.
10. Chawinga has been nominated for the 2026 ESPY Awards in the Best Soccer Player category. The awards show takes place on Wednesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. CT. Voting can be found HERE.
