Kansas City NWSL Adds Veteran Midfielder

KANSAS CITY (March 10, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL has added veteran midfielder Ashley Nick to its roster as the team continues to prepare for the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup presented by Secret Deodorant. Nick agreed to a one-year contract with the team; no further details of the agreement were disclosed.  

Nick brings plenty of experience to the Kansas City midfield line. She is making her return to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after spending the last two seasons with Italian club Juventus.  

Prior to that, Nick spent two seasons with Sky Blue FC (2013-2014) before signing with the Houston Dash ahead of the 2015 season. Midway through the campaign, Nick was traded to the Western New York Flash. Her last appearance in the NWSL was a return to Sky Blue for the 2016 season. She has accumulated 44 appearances in her NWSL career with a goal and an assist along the way. 

Nick becomes the 28th player under contract for Kansas City NWSL as the team continues preparation for its inaugural game at Portland Thorns FC on April 9 at 9:30 p.m. CT. The team’s first home game is set for April 26 at 7:30 p.m. CT against the Houston Dash. 

Kansas City is currently accepting season ticket deposits for the 2021 Inaugural Season. All Season Ticket Memberships include the 12 regular season home games plus the two home Challenge Cup games. Season Ticket Membership deposits can be made at kansascitycurrent.com
