KANSAS CITY (April 24, 2026) — The Kansas City Current launched its “Summer Kickoff Series” on Friday, set to highlight the Current’s quartet of home matches during the month of May. The Summer Kickoff Series features limited-time ticket packages, Teal Tuesday giveaways, unique merchandise items and more during an action-packed May at CPKC Stadium.
Kansas City’s May home slate begins Sunday, May 10, when the club celebrates its Mother’s Day Match, presented by Helzberg, against Chicago Stars FC at 11:25 a.m. CT. Kansas City returns to action on Friday, May 15, against the Houston Dash at 7 p.m. CT for Women’s Cancer Awareness (Pink Out), presented by The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
Kansas City then hosts the Portland Thorns on Sunday, May 24, at noon CT for Military Appreciation Day and closes out the month on Saturday, May 30, at 12:30 p.m. CT against NWSL expansion side Boston Legacy FC. The Current’s clash against Boston marks the club’s annual Pride Day, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
The Current are offering a limited-edition Summer Kickoff Four-Packs, which includes one ticket to each home match in May plus a KC Current Scarf. Season Ticket Members and Current Club members receive exclusive member pricing on the Summer Kickoff Four-Pack. May 10 vs. Chicago Stars FC – Mother’s Day Match, presented by Helzberg
During the club’s Mother’s Day Match, presented by Helzberg, the Current will honor mothers, mother figures and female role models throughout the Sunday matinee. The match kicks off at 11:25 a.m. CT and tickets can be purchased HERE.
The first 5,000 fans will receive a bag charm courtesy of the Current and Helzberg. Additionally, Helzberg will be on-site providing free ear piercings to interested fans on CPKC Plaza, Hy-Vee will be distributing free flowers to fans upon entry and fans will be able to enjoy exclusive food and beverage items. CPKC Stadium will have specialty Mom-osas available to purchase at Billie’s Grocery in Section 108, with a portion of proceeds benefitting a local non-profit organization. The stadium’s beer corner will feature select items from female-led breweries in Kansas City. Fans can look forward to a special pregame KC Baby chant performed by Current players’ mothers and mother figures.
May 15 vs. Houston Dash – Women’s Cancer Awareness (Pink Out), presented by The University of Kansas Cancer Center & AANHPI Heritage Month Celebration
Kansas City’s first Friday home match of the 2026 season will be its Women’s Cancer Awareness (Pink Out) night, presented by The University of Kansas Cancer Center. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to CPKC Stadium in support of cancer awareness. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. CT, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
The club will also celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month throughout the match. Hella Good Deeds, a local nonprofit dedicated to sharing and celebrating Asian culture, will be on-site and the KC Current Team Store will feature a limited-edition AANHPI merchandise item.
Fans in attendance can look forward to a pre-match flyover. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will also receive a co-branded pink rolling banner courtesy of the Current and The University of Kansas Cancer Center. The University of Kansas Cancer Center will activate throughout the contest, including their “I Kick Cancer For” signs for fans. The KC Current Team Store will have limited-edition pink merchandise items for purchase during the match.
May 24 vs. Portland Thorns FC – Military Appreciation Day
After a mid-week clash with Angel City FC, the Current returns to CPKC Stadium to close out the regular season series against the Portland Thorns. The match kicks off at noon CT on Sunday, May 24 and tickets can be purchased HERE.
The Current will celebrate Military Appreciation Day, highlighted by a Challenge Coin giveaway for the first 3,000 fans in attendance. Service members will perform a special halftime KC Baby Chant and comedian Trey Kennedy will lead fans in the pregame KC Baby Chant.
May 30 vs. Boston Legacy FC – Pride Day, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City
The Current closes out May with the club’s annual Pride Day, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, against Boston Legacy FC. The match on Saturday, May 30 kicks off at 12:30 p.m. CT and tickets can be purchased HERE.
The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive an exclusive Pride-themed cooling towel courtesy of the Current and Blue KC. Fans will also be able to browse exclusive Pride-themed merchandise at the KC Current Team Store.

The Current’s four May home matches build momentum for a historic summer of soccer across the region with the FIFA World Cup 2026 ™ set to begin on June 11. Kansas City will host six matches during the World Cup — featuring four Group Stage matches, a round of 32 match and a quarterfinal — beginning June 16. Following the Summer Kickoff Series, the Current’s next home match is July 17 against the San Diego Wave.
