Kansas City Current Provides Midseason Roster Update

KANSAS CITY (July 1, 2026) – The Kansas City Current provided a midseason roster update on Wednesday following the NWSL’s announcement of 2027 free agents.

Under the 2024 collective bargaining agreement between the NWSL and the NWSL Players Association, free agents may negotiate new contracts with their current team or with other clubs. Clubs have until Dec. 31, 2026, to finalize new deals with current players.

The KC Current is actively pursuing contract extensions for defender Elizabeth Ball and midfielder Debinha, both who have a mutual option for 2027. Both players are on the league’s free agency list until a decision is finalized and announced by the club.

2027 options for midfielders Vanessa DiBernardo and Rocky Rodríguez, who are under contract with the Current through the end of the 2026 season, have been declined by the club. Additionally, midfielder Bayley Feist, goalkeeper Clare Gagne and defender Kolo Suliafu are listed as a 2027 free agent. Goalkeeper Kaylin Williams-Mosier’s short-term contract concludes at the end of July. The Current extended forward Flora Marta Lacho's loan with HB Køge Women through the end of the 2026 season.
