Kansas City Current Celebrates Grand Opening of KC Current Studios at Current Landing

KANSAS CITY (July 31, 2026) — The Kansas City Current will officially open the doors to KC Current Studios on Monday, Aug. 3, with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration that marks the next chapter in the club's continued investment in women's sports, innovation and storytelling.

Officially the first retail tenant to open at Current Landing, KC Current Studios is a first-of-its-kind production and broadcasting facility dedicated to creating original content, live broadcasts, podcasts, interviews and community programming that amplifies the voices of athletes, fans and leaders shaping the future of sports. The studio further establishes Current Landing as a global destination for women's sports, media and culture.

KC Current Studios includes a photo studio, podcast recording studio, video/broadcast studio, and a production control room, allowing it to be the hub of content created from KC Current, CPKC Stadium and Current Landing.

"We are thrilled to open KC Current Studios at such a monumental moment in media. We believe that the stories surrounding women's sports are every bit as powerful as the competition itself," said KC Current co-owners and co-founders Angie and Chris Long. "KC Current Studios gives us a permanent home to tell those stories every day where we can feature our athletes, our partners, our fans and the leaders who are changing our city and sports. This is another step in our commitment to continue redefining what's possible in women's sports."

The grand opening celebration will feature an afternoon of live interviews, behind-the-scenes studio experiences, fan activations and a ribbon-cutting ceremony before concluding with a special guest appearance at Current Sessions featuring an intimate acoustic performance by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge.

The day's programming begins with a live KC Current Studios broadcast hosted by Etheridge and television writer and producer Linda Wallem, featuring conversations centered on leadership, breaking barriers, women supporting women and Kansas City's emergence as the epicenter of women's sports. Guests will include Kansas City Current executives, community leaders, local broadcasters and influential women from across the region.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. CT followed by a Fan Hour that will invite season ticket members inside the new studio for interactive experiences including player appearances, live podcast demonstrations, behind-the-scenes content creation and opportunities to become part of the storytelling process through fan interview stations and matchday story recordings.

Following the grand opening, KC Current Studios will also serve as a community resource by hosting future broadcasting classes, workshops and boot camps designed to inspire and develop the next generation of women in sports media.

The opening reflects the Kansas City Current's continued commitment to innovation both on and off the pitch. In addition to building the world's first stadium purpose-built for a women's professional sports team and investing in world-class player facilities, the club is expanding its impact through original media, education and storytelling.
