Kansas City Current appoints Maggie Walters Foltz as new General Counsel

The Kansas City Current is proud to announce that Maggie Walters Foltz will join the team as its General Counsel. She begins her new role immediately.

“Maggie is an incredible addition to this team,” said team president Allison Howard. “She has an excellent track record across many different sports teams and leagues. We are thrilled to welcome her back to Kansas City.”

In 2018, Walters Foltz joined the legal team at Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) in Denver. As Assistant General Counsel, she provided legal support and guidance to the many business units of the KSE organization, including four professional sports teams: Colorado Avalanche (NHL), Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Rapids (MLS) and Colorado Mammoth (NLL), three major entertainment venues, Major League Fishing, a professional bass fishing league, Altitude TV, a regional sports television network, various radio stations and multiple outdoor television networks and magazine publications.

“I am so excited to get started with the Current,” Walters Foltz said. “Professional sports have always been my passion, and I’m thrilled to take this next step with the Kansas City Current. In just two years, this team has already become one of the biggest names in women’s soccer, and I can’t wait to help further that vision in Kansas City.”

Walters Foltz brings nine years of experience as in-house counsel in the professional sports and entertainment industry. She began her legal career in 2013 with Sporting Kansas City (MLS), advising on all aspects of the team’s business operations and managing key transactions.
