Kansas City Current Announces Groundbreaking Partnership with United Way of Greater Kansas City as Official Charity Partner

Kansas City Current is proud to announce a new partnership with United Way of Greater Kansas City as the club’s Official Charity Partner. This new partnership will capitalize on United Way’s proven and trusted track record in philanthropic support and allow Kansas City Current to further their community engagement efforts.

“Being involved in the community and making a real difference is a high priority for us,” said Current co-founders and owners, Angie Long and Chris Long. “United Way is one of the industry leaders in this work. They’ve been doing this work for more than 100 years and the innovative work they are doing is incredibly aligned to our community engagement strategies. We couldn’t be more excited to partner in this way and bring people together to make a lasting impact.”

Like the hundreds of Kansas City’s leading companies across all sectors who partner with United Way for their philanthropic engagement, KC Current plans to leverage United Way’s expertise to amplify community engagement strategies and projects that will have a lasting impact.

“Since we started conversations with KC Current ownership, it’s been incredibly clear that this team doesn’t just talk the talk – they walk the walk. They are passionate about their community engagement efforts and reaching the folks who need support in our region,” said Chris Rosson, United Way of Greater Kansas City President and CEO. “We're proud to be the Current's Official Charity Partner as it bravely raises the bar for inclusivity and community-building. Together, we can and will amplify our impact to make Kansas City a place where all can thrive."

United Way supports more than 600 local non-profits, providing a world of opportunities for improving health, enhancing educational opportunity, and empowering economic mobility for one in three Kansas Citians. Kansas City Current fans will have the opportunity to support United Way in every experience of their engagement with the club with more details to come.

Members of the community can get involved now by signing up to volunteer and attend educational events. All available opportunities are listed here - https://unitedwaygkc.org/events/. Additionally, fans can look forward to future collaborative projects between the Current and United Way that will allow them to get involved in the community.
