Kansas City Current Announces Addition to Entitlement Night, Promotional Match Schedule

KANSAS CITY (July 27, 2026) — The Kansas City Current announced an addition to the club’s promotional and entitlement match schedule, set to take place during the match against Racing Louisville FC on Wednesday, July 29, at 7 p.m. CT. The Current will celebrate Soccer at Schools Night, presented by Bank of America, during next Wednesday’s match. 

U.S. Soccer's Soccer at Schools initiative, delivered through the Soccer Forward Foundation in partnership with Bank of America, aims to make soccer accessible to every school across the country by 2030.

The Current will also Celebrate Black Culture at CPKC Stadium throughout the contest, which will feature special in-match and pre-match performances, match-specific merchandise items, themed activations and more.

Soccer at Schools Night, presented by Bank of America
Bank of America, the entitlement sponsor of the July 29 match, is celebrating Soccer at Schools Night throughout the club’s match against Racing Louisville FC. The match will celebrate U.S. Soccer's Soccer at Schools initiative, supported by Bank of America. Ahead of kickoff, Bank of America will activate its Soccer with Us platform at Current Landing with the Soccer at Schools bus and interactive activities, giving fans a fun and engaging way to experience the program and learn more about how to get involved.

Next week’s match is also set to kickstart the Soccer at Schools movement in Kansas City. This summer, Bank of America and U.S. Soccer will donate soccer equipment kits to 23 Title I Schools in Kansas City, Missouri — set to inspire the next generation of soccer players and increase access to the sport. 

United States Women’s National Team trailblazer Michelle Akers, a two-time World Cup Champion who scored the first-ever World Cup goal for the United States in 1985, will attend the July 29 match in partnership with Bank of America. Akers is an ambassador of Bank of America’s Soccer with Us platform and continues to inspire the next generation of women’s soccer players both on and off the pitch. 

Celebrating Black Culture at CPKC Stadium
The Current will celebrate Kansas City’s Black history, artistic expression and culture throughout Celebrating Black Culture at CPKC Stadium. Local artist River Makenzi will feature a match-specific merchandise item available for purchase at the KC Current Team Store. 

Kansas City-based hip hop artist and DJ “The Royal Chief” will join the festivities with a special performance of his KC Current anthem “Teal Town,” set to energize the CPKC Stadium crowd prior to the match. A special performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will highlight the pre-match festivities. 

Heartland Black Chamber and KC Black Owned will be featured on Current Landing before the match to celebrate Kansas City’s Black-owned small businesses. Bubbles & Goo Fun Factory — a Black-owned business and Kansas City’s first hands-on slime and bubbles play experience — will bring the excitement of its River Market storefront to Current Landing with interactive pre-match activations. DJ High EyeQ will be performing on Current Landing prior to the game, and DJ Doop will serve as the in-stadium DJ. 

Five historically Black fraternities and sororities will enthrall fans with stroll performances on Current Landing Town Square prior to the match. Participating will be members from local chapters of Alphia Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. 
 

Youth from the international step team STEP Movement — a Kansas City-based group — will also perform on Current Landing prior to the match. STEP Movement is an organization that offers mentoring, performance opportunities and stepping experiences to youth aged 8-18 years old. 

Additionally, the match will also feature recognition of the 2026 Co-Miss Juneteenth KC recipients: S’Yarre Dunning and Alena Kirk.  Vine Street Brewing, Kansas City’s first Black-owned brewery, will be available on tap during the match. The pre-match KC Baby Chant will be performed by Ruby Jean’s Juicery Founder Christoper Goode, a proud CPKC Stadium occupant, local business owner and Current fan. 

2026 Kansas City Current Media Game
During halftime, media members from across the region will take part in the fifth annual Kansas City Current Media Game. Don’t miss out on the fun as Team Heartland, captained by KSHB41’s Fernanda Silva, squares off against Team Storm, captained by TICO Sports’ Hannah Bassham. The chaotic, frenetic five-minute match will also feature Michelle Akers as the Celebrity Referee.
