Kansas City Current Announces 2023 Theme Nights

The Kansas City Current is excited to announce the team’s theme nights for the 2023 season. This season, the Current will host seven theme nights, including annual fan favorites such as Pride Night, KC Kicks Cancer Night and Fan Appreciation Day. The club kicks off the theme night schedule with Mother’s Day on May 14 and will wrap up the season with its annual Fan Appreciation match.

2023 Theme Nights

May 14 vs. San Diego Wave FC – Mother’s Day

Fans and players will celebrate the mothers in their lives as the Current hosts the San Diego Wave.

May 20 vs. Racing Louisville FC – Military Appreciation Night, presented by Palmer Square Capital Management

In honor of Armed Forces Day on May 20, the Current will salute everyone who has served or are currently serving in the nation’s military. The evening will feature a host of themed activities and tributes to show support and gratitude for all active and retired service personnel.

June 3 vs. North Carolina Courage – Pride Night, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City

The club will take the first weekend in June to host its annual Pride Night, in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. Fans can look forward to a festival of community organizations on Mazuma Plaza ahead of the match, as well as Pride themed merch and giveaways for fans.

June 18 vs. Washington Spirit – Heart Health Awareness Night, presented by Saint Luke’s Health System

The Kansas City Current and Saint Luke’s Health System will help raise awareness for heart health ahead of the global awareness campaign prior to World Heart Day celebrated in September. The Current will also honor Juneteenth, the annual holiday that marks the end of slavery in America, as well as Father’s Day.

Aug. 18 vs. OL Reign – Inspiring Women Night

For the second consecutive year, the Current will take a match to inspire bold ambition and highlight women in roles where they have traditionally been underrepresented.

Sept. 1 vs. Angel City FC – KC Kicks Cancer Night, presented by Saint Luke’s Health System

Join the KC Current and Saint Luke’s Health System in working together to kick cancer. This match will raise awareness for the cause and offer fans the opportunity to support the fight against cancer.

Oct. 7 vs. Chicago Red Stars – Fan Appreciation Day

In the final home match of the regular season, the Current will thank the supporters who make Kansas City the Soccer Capital of America! Special merchandise and other celebratory opportunities await the best fans in the NWSL.
