Forward Kyra Carusa Recalled to HB Køge Women

Forward Kyra Carusa, who had been on loan with the Kansas City Current, has been recalled to HB Køge Women. HB Køge Women plays in the highest division of Danish women’s football and has a storied history as a top club in Denmark.

“We thank Kyra for her contributions to our club and community,” said general manager Ryan Dell. “She is an incredible player, but more importantly, an incredible person. We wish her nothing but the best in her next chapter with HB Køge Women and are glad she’s staying within the KC Current ecosystem.”

HB Køge Women announced in January it had re-signed Carusa, who previously played for the Swans from 2020-23, before she arrived in Kansas City on loan during preseason. During her first stint in Denmark, the striker totaled 37 goals in 79 matches to help the club win two Danish championships and a berth in the Champions League. She wore the captain’s armband and was tabbed the team’s Player of the Year in 2020.

Carusa appeared in four matches for the KC Current and totaled 50 minutes during the 2026 NWSL regular season.

Additionally, goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti’s short-term contract concluded May 31. Cappelletti first joined the Current as a non-rostered training player for the 2026 preseason before signing a short-term contract in early March.
