Defender Meila Brewer to Attend U.S. Under-17 National Team Training Camp

KANSAS CITY (Aug. 6, 2026) – Kansas City Current defender Meila Brewer has been called up to the United States Under-17 Women’s National Team for an upcoming training camp this month at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga. The camp will also feature a series of international friendlies against other top U-17 teams. 

The U.S. will first play Mexico on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. CT before facing Chile at 7 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 16. The Stars and Stripes will round out the fixtures against Canada at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

The training camp is a continuation of the USA’s preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which takes place Oct. 17-Nov. 7 in Morocco. The U.S. punched its ticket to the World Cup after winning its group at the Concacaf U-17 Championship in March.

The upcoming camp will be the final event before the roster is chosen for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup. 

Brewer signed her first professional contract with the KC Current in December 2025 at just 16 years old. A staple in the U.S. Youth National Team system, she helped lead the USA to the 2024 Concacaf U-15 title where she scored a stoppage-time goal to conclude a 3-0 win over Mexico in the final. Brewer was the second youngest player on the U-17 squad which won the 4 Nations Tournament in 2025. She also started all four matches and scored one goal at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, helping her team win their group and advance to the Round of 16.

Brewer is the only professional player on this U-17 WNT roster.
