KANSAS CITY (Nov. 17, 2025) — The next FIFA international window will feature two Kansas City Current players, goalkeeper Lorena and forward Bia Zaneratto, on the Brazilian National Team. They were called up by the Brazilian Football Confederation for a pair of friendlies in late November and early December.
Brazil will first travel to Marbella, Spain, for a matchup with Norway at the Estadio Municipal de La Línea de la Concepción on Friday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. CT. The squad will then head to Aveiro, Portugal, to face the Portuguese National Team on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Aveiro Municipal Stadium, and kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. CT.
Lorena has been called up by Brazil for all six camps held in 2025. This is Zaneratto’s second consecutive national team call-up, with her first invitation since May 2024 coming in the October FIFA window.
Both standouts were with Brazil during the most recent international window last month. Zaneratto scored the opening goal in the ninth minute before dishing out the game-winning assist nine minutes later during Brazil’s 2-1 win vs. England on Oct. 25 before Lorena secured a 1-0 shutout over Italy on Oct. 28. Lorena started both matches in net and made a combined seven saves while Zaneratto started the first contest and subbed in during the second.
Over the summer, Lorena guided Brazil to its fifth consecutive – and ninth overall, Copa América title. Her game-winning save in the penalty kick shootout against Colombia clinched the championship; She also had a penalty kick save in a friendly with Japan in May. The netminder, whose senior team debut came in 2021, missed the 2023 FIFA World Cup due to injury but returned to play every minute for Brazil during the 2024 Olympic Games. She kept a clean sheet in three of six matches in the tournament en route to the silver medal.
A mainstay on the Brazilian National Team, Zaneratto first hit the world stage at the age of 14 at the 2008 FIFA Under-17 World Cup as the youngest player on the roster. She began her senior team career three years later with her first cap coming in a 3-0 friendly win over Chile in 2011. Zaneratto is a veteran of four FIFA World Cups (2011, 2015, 2019, 2023) and two Olympic games (2016, 2020). She has 113 appearances for Brazil with 37 goals, including one World Cup goal and three Olympic goals.
