KC Current to Host Youth Soccer Equipment Drive Benefitting Youth R.I.S.E

The Kansas City Current believe in the power of sport for all. 

To bring that opportunity to youth in the Kansas City area, we’ve teamed up with FunkAway to host an Equipment Drive benefitting Youth R.I.S.E, a local nonprofit consisting of volunteers who commit their time and resources in efforts to reach at-risk youth within the Kansas City community.

Our Youth R.I.S.E. Equipment Drive will take place on Saturday, June 11th at Children’s Mercy Park ahead of KC Current vs. Gotham FC. Youth R.I.S.E. Collection bins will be at the gates pre-match for new or gently used soccer gear including:

• Soccer balls (highest priority)
• Cleats
• Indoor soccer shoes
• Shin guards

• Goalkeeper gloves

• Soccer training equipment: balls, cones, etc.

• School supplies

• Coloring books for kids

• Art supplies - crayons, colored pencils, watercolor paint, paintbrushes, etc.

• Winter coats

• Socks

Youth R.I.S.E. provides a means of redirection through extra-curricular activities, primarily soccer, and support them during times of need. Donations will directly help their soccer program which currently consists of their Lady Jaguars and boys’ teams (9-to-22-year old’s) with players representing 24 different nationalities and various schools in the area.
