We are teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the fourth year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting local animals ready for adoption.  

Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Gotham FC on Saturday, October 11 is Shortcake from Chain of Hope KC!

Adopt Shortcake

Shortcake is one year old domestic shorthair. She is not much of a lap cat, but she loves a good, quick pet session before she's off again on her next adventure. Her latest passion is scaling wall structures and surveying her kingdom from the highest perch she can find. If you're looking for a playful, high-flying friend, she's the one for you!

Chain of Hope is a passionate animal rescue organization committed to giving forgotten and neglected animals a second chance. They work every day to rescue those who are suffering, provide medical care and rehabilitation, and place them in loving forever homes.​

Chain of Hope believes in breaking the cycle of neglect through education, outreach, and direct action. Whether it’s pulling a dog from the streets, helping a pet owner with resources, or speaking up for those who can’t, their mission is rooted in compassion and hope.
