Kansas City Current II continues unbeaten start with dominant victory 

Kansas City Current II posted yet another impressive result over the weekend, improving to 3-0-0 on the season with an 8-0 victory over Quad Cities Rush on June 4.  

Three Current II players recorded a brace in the victory including forward Caroline Kelly, who currently leads the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) with eight goals. Midfielders Felicia Knox and Lily Farkas were the other Kansas City players to have a multi-goal performance. Forwards Amelia Horton and Brie Severns rounded out the scoring, notching their second and fourth goals of the season, respectively.  

Through three matches, Kansas City is well-positioned in the WPSL hierarchy. Current II leads the Midwest Conference with nine points and is one of three undefeated teams in the conference. Kansas City’s staggering 27 goals leads the entire Central Region, which includes 40 teams, and ranks second overall in the entire WPSL.  

This weekend, Current II host Central Illinois United on June 11 at 7:00 p.m. CT. The visitors lost their first match of the season to another unbeaten squad in the Midwest Conference, Fire & Ice SC, 4-0 on June 5. Updates can be found on Kansas City Current II’s official twitter account.
