Fan Code of Conduct

We are confident KC Current fans top the NWSL in their enthusiasm, team support, hospitality, and sportsmanship. Our reputation is shaped not only by our players, coaches, and employees, but by our fans as well. Our goal is to promote the absolute best fan experience in all of sports and entertainment, supporting our team while maintaining a family-oriented atmosphere.

KC Current and CPKC Stadium are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable match-day experience for all fans visiting its stadium and facilities. KC Current and CPKC Stadium are also deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment, free of discrimination and harassment. This Fan Code of Conduct addresses conduct that is inconsistent with these goals and detracts from the match-day experience and the expectations of the KC Current and CPKC Stadium.

The following conduct is prohibited in the stadium and all parking lots, facilities and areas controlled by the KC Current or CPKC Stadium and through any KC Current or CPKC digital platform:

  • Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, threatening, or violent in nature, including verbal or physical harassment of match officials, players, staff, fans or other individuals.
  • Conduct that is illegal under applicable local, state, or federal law.
  • Conduct that results in damage to the venue or other personal property.
  • Fighting.
  • Fan violence.
  • Assault/battery on staff, vendors or other patrons.
  • Using threatening, abusive or discriminatory words, signs symbols, gestures or actions , including on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, cultural identity, nationality, citizenship status, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, appearance and/or disability.
  • Displaying signs, symbols, words or images for commercial purposes or for electioneering, campaigning, or advocating for or against any candidate, political party, legislative issue, or government action.
  • Throwing objects of any kind towards the field, players and/or officials.
  • Causing significant damage to stadium property.
  • Provoking and/or inciting threatening, abusive or discriminatory behavior.
  • Intrusion onto the field of play or designated area of play.
  • Entering, or attempting to enter, unauthorized areas of the venue.
  • Possession of an unauthorized pyrotechnic device, smoke or firework or other prohibited item. A complete list of prohibited items for CPKC Stadium may be found here.
  • Ignoring or failing to follow instructions from venue staff, stadium policies and emergency response procedures
  • Failing to promptly return a ball that enters the stands.
  • Irresponsible use or consumption of alcohol or other substances and/or purchasing or providing for consumption alcohol for an underage individual.
  • Making unauthorized transmissions or play-by-play accounts of the match.
  • Any behavior that otherwise targets other fans or interferes with other fans’ enjoyment of the game.

Any fan who violates any of these provisions may be subject to penalties, including, but not limited to, ejection without refund, loss of ticket privileges for future games, and revocation of season tickets. There are several factors that will be taken into consideration when issuing consequences to a fan who fails to meet the expectations laid out in this Fan Code of Conduct. Any fan who conducts themselves in an extremely disruptive or dangerous manner or commits multiple violations during a 12-month period, may be banned from attending future KC Current and other NWSL matches ranging from the remainder of the season up to a lifetime ban. KC Current and/or the NWSL, as applicable, in their sole and absolute discretion, may increase or decrease any prescribed penalties. The Code of Conduct applies to all KC Current and NWSL events. Please note that the KC Current and the NWSL reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who has engaged in harassment of match officials, opposing team members, staff, or other fans or who have otherwise violated this Code of Conduct using social or digital media or other forms of communication.
