This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the third year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting local animals ready for adoption.
Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Washington Spirit on Friday, September 20th is Sirius from Mid-America Bully Breed Rescue!
Sirius is 11 weeks old and already a firecracker! He is part of the MABBR's “star” litter and he is definitely a star! His foster mom says the "S" in Sirius stands for: smart, silly, spunky, snuggly, and super sweet! Sirius is always happy to be with his people and meet new friends. He would do best with a canine companion that will put up with puppy mischief and show him the ways of the world! Sirius is often the first puppy to try new things and would be an excellent adventure buddy.
Kansas Pit Bull Rescue (KPR) was founded in 2003 by two dog lovers who were tired of having to turn homeless pit bulls away from their small foster home network because they lacked space, volunteers and adequate funding. Their goal was to assist pit bull-type dogs who found themselves in high kill shelters in the Midwest. With significant help from supporters and donors, KPR placed over 100 needy pit bulls and pit bull mixes into responsible forever homes within their first two years of incorporation as a licensed 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.
