Adopt Sahara, our Mascot of the Match! Kansas City Current

Adopt Sahara, our Mascot of the Match!

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the third year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting local animals ready for adoption.

Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. NC Courage on Sunday, May 12 is Sahara from KC Pet Project!

Adopt Sahara

Sahara is the shelter's current longest stay at KC Pet Project and has been there for 180 days. She is 2 years old and between her huge personality and the immense amount of love she has to offer, we are positive you won’t want to pass up an opportunity to add this girl to your family!

Sahara was found holed up in someone's backyard looking for a safe place to lay her head and to have her litter of puppies. She gave birth to 9 puppies and was the best momma to those pups, who all have found their perfect homes. Now it is Sahara's turn to find a home!

Sahara is known to be a very friendly girl who sports an incredible smile and a constantly wagging tail as an easy indicator of just how happy she is to see you! She would like to meet all the family members in the household before heading home as she can be a bit introverted when meeting new people but trust us when we say it’s an amazing feeling when you unlock this sweet girl's huge personality. Of course, she enjoys her fair share of affection, snuggling in close for some much-needed love and cuddles. Sahara loves all things toys; hard chew toys and squeaky balls are her absolute favorite! She loves to play hard and would do well with a dog that can match her play style! While Sahara loves her play sessions with all her doggie friends, she is not sold on the feline kind and would do best in a cat-free household. This smart girl comes well versed in the command sit and is eager to spend time working together on her other basic tricks. She keeps a clean kennel and settles well in her space, though she does prefer to be part of the action when possible. This list of things we love about Sahara could go on forever, so come check out the rest for yourself at the KC Campus for Animal Care! She needs you now more than ever!
