Adopt Parcheesi! Mascot of the Match Presented by FunkAway

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. In partnership with FunkAway, the club has launched the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting one local animal ready for adoption for each home and away match of the regular season.

The Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Washington Spirit this Sunday is Parcheesi, of KC Pet Project.

Meet Parcheesi, or as many of the staff and volunteers at KC Pet Project call him, Cheesy. At a little less than 2 years old, Parcheesi is bursting with life and love to give. This handsome boy is sunshine incarnate! Outside his kennel, he is a big, bouncy, happy baby! His favorite things in the world are tennis balls, kiddie pools, and treats. Parcheesi is a star athlete and would love to go home with a young active family. He would also love to have a doggy sibling or two to play with but needs to meet them first just to make sure they will be best friends. Parcheesi is currently available for adoption at the Kansas City Campus for Animal Care in Swope Park. Come meet him today! His adoption family will receive gift bags from KC Current and FunkAway as part of the sponsorship.

He is currently housed at KC Pet Project, a shelter working to build a more compassionate community for both pets and people. They care for over 14,000 animals a year and work with other animal welfare organizations to increase the number of homeless pets adopted and focus on lifesaving programs promoting pet retention, identification, lost pet reunions, and pet ownership education throughout the community. Their mission is “leading the way in creating a compassionate, safe community for pets and people through progressive, lifesaving programs and services, community resources, and educational opportunities.”
