Adopt Marcus! Mascot of the Match Presented by FunkAway

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. In partnership with FunkAway, the club has launched the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting one local animal ready for adoption for each home and away match of the regular season.

The Mascot of the Match for NC Courage vs. KC Current this Saturday is Marcus, of Midwest Animal ResQ.

Adopt Marcus

Marcus is a 2 year old Standard Poodle rescued from a breeding facility. He is around 50 pounds, and is still gaining his confidence, and learning what it's like to be loved. He is not fully house trained yet, but he is learning quickly, and is a volunteer and staff favorite. He has been good with the dogs and older kids he has met so far. Marcus just needs some love, time, and understanding, and he will be a fantastic dog. He is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and ready to find his forever home. His adoption family will receive gift bags from KC Current and FunkAway as part of the sponsorship.

Marcus is currently housed at Midwest Animal ResQ, a small foster-based rescue group focused on saving dogs from inhumane conditions at local large scale breeding facilities. With the help of dedicated supporters and volunteers, MARQ has grown into a multifaceted group in just a short period of time. This has allowed them to increase their scope to serve the animals of the greater Kansas City area. Their mission statement is "Completing families one tail at a time,” which combines their focus of getting to know their pets and customers so they can make a perfect match!
