Adopt Dave! Mascot of the Match Presented by FunkAway

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. In partnership with FunkAway, the club has launched the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting one local animal ready for adoption for each home and away match of the regular season.

The Mascot of the Match for San Diego Wave FC vs. KC Current this Sunday is Dave, of KC Pet Project.

Adopt Dave

Dave is 4 years old and has been at the shelter since June. He is very playful, social, and loves to be by your side. Whether you are taking a walk, heading out on an adventure, or just hanging out at home, he'll be right there with you. This handsome boy has a ton of energy and would best fit into a household with people or other dogs who can match it! Dave would love a doggy sister or brother to play with and a yard, or nearby park, to get his zoomies out. His adoption family will receive gift bags from KC Current and FunkAway as part of the sponsorship.

Dave is currently housed at KC Pet Project, a shelter working to build a more compassionate community for both pets and people. They care for over 14,000 animals a year and work with other animal welfare organizations to increase the number of homeless pets adopted and focus on lifesaving programs promoting pet retention, identification, lost pet reunions, and pet ownership education throughout the community. Their mission is “leading the way in creating a compassionate, safe community for pets and people through progressive, lifesaving programs and services, community resources, and educational opportunities.”
